President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sympathy to former world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, following the tragic road accident on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway that claimed two lives and left the boxer injured.
In a condolence message, the President described the incident as an immense tragedy that has cast a shadow over the season, mourning the loss of the two victims involved in the crash.
President Tinubu said he sympathised with Joshua and his family as they grapple with the emotional burden of the unfortunate incident. He noted that the British-Nigerian boxer has consistently demonstrated courage, discipline, and an enduring love for Nigeria, qualities that have made him a source of national pride.
The President emphasised the importance of unity and mutual encouragement in moments of grief, describing Nigerians as brothers and sisters bound by a shared destiny.
He prayed for strength, wisdom, and grace for Anthony Joshua during the painful period, wished him a speedy recovery, and prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of those who lost their lives in the accident.
