President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Amb. Sola Enikanolaiye, on his 65 birthday.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described Enikanolaiye as a distinguished diplomat, accomplished administrator and dedicated public servant whose career reflected professionalism, patriotism and commitment to Nigeria.
He expressed confidence that the minister would continue to strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic institutions and advance the country’s interests globally.
“Ambassador Enikanolaiye, your distinguished career has been defined by professionalism, intellectual depth, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to Nigeria.
“Your extensive experience in diplomacy, international relations, administration and strategic affairs remains an invaluable asset in strengthening Nigeria’s standing and influence in the international community.
“As you mark this special day, I pray that Almighty God will continue to grant you good health, wisdom and strength to continue serving your fatherland,” the President said.
Tinubu commended the minister’s contributions to Nigeria’s diplomatic service through his assignments at the ministry’s headquarters and in missions abroad.
He also acknowledged his contributions to the formulation and implementation of Nigeria’s foreign policy and the country’s multilateral engagements at the United Nations, African Union, Commonwealth and other international organisations.
The president described Enikanolaiye’s appointment in his current role as a fitting recognition of his record of service and extensive diplomatic experience.
NAN reports that Enikanolaiye served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from August 1982 to August 2017, rising through the ranks to become Permanent Secretary.
He later served as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations before he was appointed Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
