President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to attend All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rallies in 12 states, including Lagos, as the party prepares for the 2027 general election.

According to the campaign timetable released on Thursday, Tinubu will kick off his campaign tour in Kaduna on October 24, before proceeding to Rivers on November 7, Plateau on November 14 and Oyo on November 21.

The president is also expected to attend rallies in Borno on November 25, Enugu on November 28 and Bauchi on November 29.

The campaign will continue in December, with Tinubu scheduled to visit Sokoto on December 5, Delta on December 12 and Kano on December 17.

In January 2027, the president is expected to campaign in Adamawa on January 4 before concluding his scheduled appearances in Lagos on January 9.

The APC has scheduled rallies in other states where Tinubu will not personally appear, with party leaders expected to represent him at the events.

These states include Cross River, Gombe, Nasarawa, Ekiti, Ebonyi, Jigawa, Ondo, Edo, Yobe, Kebbi, Akwa Ibom, Anambra and Benue, among others.

The timetable provides for the president to visit 12 of Nigeria’s 36 states, while the party’s campaign leadership coordinates activities across the remaining states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Some of the states on Tinubu’s itinerary are politically significant ahead of the 2027 presidential election. Oyo Governor Seyi Makinde is linked to the presidential race under the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), which is also the ruling party in Bauchi. Adamawa is the home state of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, according to the report.

Tinubu had said at the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday that he would not attend every rally, stressing that governance remained a priority.

He, however, promised to make time to address Nigerians directly as party leaders travel across states and local government areas to seek support for his re-election.

The APC recently expanded its presidential campaign council, adding prominent figures including FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke and Anambra Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

The party is expected to deploy the campaign council and its political structures to drive mobilisation and strengthen its nationwide outreach ahead of the 2027 polls.
