Mr Pius Akutah, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council, said on Tuesday in Abuja during a meeting with journalists from Benue that President Bola Tinubu’s decisions are helping to grow Nigeria’s economy, especially the maritime sector.
He explained that the creation of the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy has been very important.
Akutah said the changes are happening across Nigeria, with improvements at the ports and new inland dry ports being built to connect the ports to inland areas.
He added that the government has introduced new policies, upgraded port facilities, increased exports, and attracted more foreign investments.
Efforts are also underway to make port operations more efficient.
He stated that all these actions aim to make Nigeria’s ocean economy stronger and more competitive.
Akutah credited Tinubu’s reforms for helping the country grow, creating jobs, and making Nigeria a leading maritime hub in West Africa.
