Ruth Otabor, younger sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Ijeoma “Phyna” Otabor, has died from injuries sustained after being hit by a truck reportedly belonging to the Dangote Group near Auchi Polytechnic.
According to a statement released by the family through Phyna’s Instagram page, Ruth passed away in the early hours of Sunday, August 31, 2025, while still receiving treatment in the hospital.
“With a heavy heart, the family regrets to announce the passing on to glory of their daughter, sister and mother on the 31st day of August 2025 at about 6:30 hours,” the statement signed by the family’s solicitors read in part.
The family appealed to Nigerians to allow them a private moment of grief as they mourn their loved one.
Recall that Ruth Otabor had earlier lost her left leg following the accident before her eventual passing.
