Two men were on Wednesday arraigned before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing two Bajaj motorcycles valued at N2.4 million.

The defendants, Rasaki Adeniran, 53, and Olaoluwa Akingboju, 41, are facing a four-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing. Both pleaded not guilty to the charges.

According to the prosecutor, Insp. Adegeshin Famuyiwa, the alleged offence occurred at about 2:00 a.m. on December 22, 2025, at Eleshin/Elepe Estate along Ijede Road, Ikorodu. He told the court that the defendants conspired with others still at large to carry out the theft.

Famuyiwa alleged that the defendants abandoned their duty posts and opened the gate for two motorcyclists, each conveying two passengers, before dishonestly making away with two Bajaj motorcycles. One of the motorcycles was valued at N1.16 million, while the other, with registration number FKJ 583QN, was worth N1.2 million.

The offences, he said, contravene Sections 287, 410, and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, which prescribe a jail term of up to three years for stealing.

The presiding Magistrate, Mr A.O. Ogbe, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N500,000 each, with two sureties in like sum. The case was adjourned until January 22 for mention.
