The OHANIVO General Assembly, the socio-cultural bloc representing Ohaozara, Onicha, and Ivo communities in Ebonyi South, has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for a second term in 2027.

The endorsement was made during the 2025 Iri Ji Festival on September 27, where community leaders praised Tinubu for breaking what they called the “jinx of Igbo marginalisation” and commended Nwifuru for delivering inclusive development through his “People’s Charter of Needs” agenda.

In his address, Minister of Works and Grand Patron of the Assembly, Sen. David Umahi, dismissed the “Obidient” political movement, insisting Ebonyi had aligned firmly with Tinubu.

“In Ebonyi State, we are not Obidient people. We have been so marginalised that we are no longer Obidient,” Umahi declared. “Our obedience is to the man who has given us a sense of belonging—President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Nothing will stop Governor Nwifuru’s second term because God has already endorsed it.”

Umahi urged South Easterners to rally behind Tinubu, warning against “those darkening counsel on social media” and vowing that Ebonyi would not repeat what he described as the “mistake of the last election.”

Acting Governor of Ebonyi, Princess Patricia Obila, praised the resilience and unity of OHANIVO communities and assured them of government’s commitment to equitable development.

The Chairman of the occasion, Dr. Ifeanyi Okorie, CEO of Rock Results Group, called for a standing ovation in honour of President Tinubu, lauding him for giving the South East greater prominence in Nigeria’s development agenda.

Dignitaries at the event included Senator Prof. Anthony Okorie Ani (Ebonyi South), Hon. Nkemkama Kama (Ohaozara/Onicha/Ivo Federal Constituency), and Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Grace Umezurike.
