The All Progressives Congress [APC] National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has called on Nigerians to uphold hope and commit to prayers for the nation as Christians observed Easter across the country.

He issued the message from Abuja through a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Communications Strategy, Abimbola Tooki.

Yilwatda urged citizens to draw inspiration from the Easter season and embrace sacrifice, unity, and renewed faith in national progress.

He said the resurrection of Jesus Christ offers enduring lessons that apply to Nigeria’s current social and security realities.

He encouraged Nigerians to strengthen compassion, peace, and collective responsibility in daily life.

Yilwatda expressed concern over rising insecurity in parts of the country, including kidnapping, banditry, and insurgency.

He extended sympathy to families and communities affected by violence and described their losses as a shared national pain.

He called for closer cooperation among citizens, security agencies, and institutions to restore stability and peace.

Yilwatda commended the Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu for ongoing efforts aimed at improving security and governance.

He urged Nigerians to support national security efforts through vigilance and cooperation at all levels.

He warned against fear and division and stressed the need for unity during difficult times.

He encouraged Christians to dedicate the Easter period to prayers for leaders, security personnel, and national healing.

“We should pray for healing where there is pain, peace where there is conflict, and hope where there is despair.”

“Easter teaches us that sacrifice is the pathway to glory, that suffering is never the end of the story, and that with faith in God, hope can rise again even in difficult times.” He added.

He expressed confidence that Nigeria would overcome its challenges through unity, faith, and sustained commitment to progress.

He wished Christians a peaceful and spiritually fulfilling Easter celebration.
