The Lagos State Government has dismissed reports suggesting a rift between Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Ogun State counterpart, Prince Dapo Abiodun, describing the claims as false and misleading.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, the government said the reports circulating on some online platforms and blogs do not reflect the true relationship between the two governors.

According to the statement, Governor Sanwo-Olu and Prince Abiodun share a cordial and brotherly relationship, marked by regular meetings and frequent communication on issues of mutual interest aimed at advancing the development of their respective states.

The Lagos State Government noted that the close relationship between the two leaders is further strengthened by the shared boundaries and socio-cultural ties between Lagos and Ogun states.

The statement warned individuals and groups spreading what it described as fake news to desist from attempts to sow discord, stressing that both governors are united by a common vision to improve the welfare and quality of life of their people.
