The Ogun State Police Command has filed a six-count charge against social media influencer and blogger, Adetoun Onajobi, popularly known as @justadetoun, over alleged cyberbullying and false accusations against the Ogun State Government and the state governor.

The charges, which are pending before the Abeokuta Division of the Federal High Court, were filed under provisions of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act.

According to a statement issued on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, the police alleged that Onajobi used various social media and internet-based platforms to publish false information and engage in online harassment targeting the Ogun State Governor.

The statement disclosed that on January 2, 2026, the police invited Onajobi for questioning to enable her respond to the allegations. However, she reportedly failed to honour the invitation. Instead, her lawyer wrote to the police, claiming she was medically indisposed and unable to attend, attaching a medical report purportedly issued by a doctor.

The police said subsequent investigations revealed that the medical report was false. The doctor who allegedly issued the report was arrested and later admitted that the document was fabricated at the direction of Onajobi during a phone conversation, allegedly facilitated by her lawyer.

Following this admission, the doctor was arraigned before an Ogun State Magistrates’ Court on charges bordering on conspiracy, uttering a false document and obstructing the course of justice.

The police further stated that Onajobi has since remained evasive and has ignored multiple invitations, with her current whereabouts unknown.

The Ogun State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to tackling all forms of crime, including digital and cyber-related offences, while respecting citizens’ constitutional rights. The command, however, noted that freedom of expression has lawful limits and does not shield individuals from criminal liability.

The police added that efforts are ongoing to track other individuals allegedly linked to the dissemination of false information and vowed to deploy all lawful means to arrest and produce Onajobi in court to answer the charges filed against her.

The statement was issued on January 19, 2026, from the Ogun State Police Command headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta.
