The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Ishaq Oloyede, has admitted to significant errors in the conduct of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), revealing that more than 300,000 candidates across the five South Eastern states and Lagos State will be required to resit the exam.
Professor Oloyede made the disclosure during a press briefing currently underway in Abuja.
“What should have been a moment of joy has changed due to one or two errors,” he stated, expressing regret over the development and assuring affected candidates of a swift resolution.
While the specific nature of the errors was not immediately detailed, the Board assured stakeholders that measures are being put in place to ensure the rescheduled examinations are conducted seamlessly and fairly.
JAMB has pledged to release further information regarding the new exam dates and modalities for the resit in the coming days.
