Senior leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), including Sen. Musiliu Obanikoro, former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji, and Fola Tinubu, have rallied party members to secure three million votes for President Bola Tinubu in Lagos in the 2027 presidential election.
They made the call on Friday at the inauguration of the Fola Tinubu (FT) Support Group for the PBAT 2027 campaign office in Ikeja, Lagos.
Obanikoro, Director-General of the President Tinubu and Gov. Obafemi Hamzat Campaign Organisation, said the mobilisation was part of efforts to strengthen the party and prepare for the 2027 elections.
He said the campaign would focus on unity, reconciliation and grassroots mobilisation across the state’s 20 local government areas and 37 local council development areas.
“Our target this time around is to secure three million votes for President Tinubu in Lagos during the 2027 presidential election,” Obanikoro said.
He urged APC leaders, members and stakeholders to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and work together to achieve the target.
“We are back stronger together in Lagos to reconcile party members and bridge tribal differences, as we are all one and united to cast our votes for President Tinubu,” he said.
Ikuforiji also urged APC members to intensify efforts to strengthen the party and increase voter participation.
He noted that Lagos had more than six million registered voters but only about 28 per cent participated in the last election.
“If half of the six million registered voters come out to vote for President Tinubu, Gov. Obafemi Hamzat and other APC candidates, success is ours,” he said.
Ikuforiji said the party should secure no fewer than three million votes for Tinubu in Lagos in 2027.
Fola Tinubu said his support group would extend its grassroots mobilisation efforts across the South-West, including Ogun, Ekiti and Oyo states.
He said the group would focus on educating voters about Tinubu’s reforms and efforts to improve Nigeria’s economy and social infrastructure.
“Our main campaign will focus on grassroots mobilisation, leading the crusade in Lagos and across the South-West states,” he said.
Also speaking, Chief Sunday Udeh, President-General of the Igbo Speaking Community in Lagos, pledged the support of the Igbo community in the state for Tinubu and the APC in the 2027 elections.
“We assure the president of our votes. We, the Igbo community in Lagos, have resolved to cast our votes for APC in the next elections,” Udeh said.
