Troops of the Nigerian Army have dismantled a major oil bunkering syndicate operating along the Lekki–Ibeju waterways in Lagos State, arresting 15 suspects and confiscating trucks, marine equipment, and pumping devices used for illegal petroleum siphoning.

The early morning operation was carried out on Thursday by soldiers of the 65 Battalion under the 81 Division, following credible intelligence and sustained surveillance of crude oil and refined product theft activities in the area. The crackdown targeted locations near the Dangote Refinery corridor, a zone increasingly linked to illicit oil operations.

Authorities say the raid is part of ongoing efforts to curb oil theft and secure critical infrastructure along Lagos coastal communities.
