Concern has continued to trail reports of an alleged assault involving Big Brother Naija All Stars winner, Ilebaye Odiniya, after she reportedly went live on Instagram crying out for help during a violent altercation said to have involved her father.
In videos and accounts circulating across social media on Saturday, a visibly distressed Ilebaye was allegedly seen being physically attacked by a man believed to be her father, while voices of teenage boys in the background pleaded with him to stop.
The incident triggered outrage online, with fellow reality stars and influencers, including Tacha Akide and Beauty Tukura, calling for urgent intervention and assistance for the reality TV star in Abuja.
During a Twitter Space held shortly after the incident, a woman identified as Meme alleged that Ilebaye’s mother had suffered years of abuse in the marriage before eventually fleeing for her safety some years ago.
According to her, while the mother reportedly left the home with the girls, the father allegedly refused to allow her take custody of the boys.
Meme further claimed that Ilebaye recently became concerned after her younger brothers allegedly reached out to complain about their living conditions, prompting her decision to visit the family house despite warnings from her mother to stay away.
She alleged that Ilebaye, who was meant to celebrate her birthday on the same day, hoped her father would be calm because of the occasion but was instead allegedly attacked and left with visible injuries.
Tacha, reacting to the incident online, said she had often wondered why Ilebaye was not very active on social media, noting that she had no idea the reality star was allegedly dealing with deep family struggles privately.
There were also claims that police officers later arrived at the residence after the incident, but were allegedly denied access to the premises.
Meme further alleged that the father was influential and well-connected, making it difficult for those around the family to confront the situation openly.
Hours later, Beauty Tukura disclosed online that Ilebaye had reportedly been rescued from the situation, although the reality star had yet to publicly release an official statement at the time of filing this report.
The incident has since sparked widespread reactions across social media, with many users expressing sympathy for Ilebaye and calling for support, protection and justice if the allegations are confirmed.
