A former African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain in Ondo State, Oluwatosin Ayeni, has assumed office as Chairman of the Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA) after delegates reached a consensus at the party’s congress in Akure on Thursday.

Party officials confirmed the outcome when the congress committee chairman, Oladimeji Oluwafisayo, announced Ayeni’s selection and also disclosed Jerry Babaleye as the state Legal Adviser.

Ayeni described his emergence as a collective decision and thanked party members for their support.

He encouraged Nigerians to register with the party through its official website and participate in its political activities.

He stated that the DLA would focus on promoting credible candidates and strengthening internal democracy in future elections.

He said, “DLA is a platform that can present able Nigerians as true leaders to take the country to the desired state.”

Okechukwu Ibeh, secretary of the congress committee, said Ayeni’s appointment reflected strong confidence among party members and that rapid organisational growth was expected under his leadership.

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), led by Ondo State Administrative Secretary Adenike Tadese, monitored the congress to ensure compliance with electoral procedures.
