Apostle Chikere Nwafor, founder of Heaven’s Gateway Ministries, has been accused by her ex-husband, Martin Ogbulu, of shipping her car from the United Kingdom to Nigeria and falsely declaring it stolen to her insurance company.
Martin alleged that the first sign of trouble appeared when he noticed the vehicle, usually parked in a designated space in the UK, had disappeared without prior explanation. Chikere reportedly told him her cousins had borrowed the car for a family event.
Weeks later, she allegedly called in panic, asking Martin to respond to her UK insurance company, claiming she could not communicate with them from Nigeria. According to Martin, Chikere had already reported the Lexus RX450h as stolen and later received a payout of nearly £17,000.
Martin claims the vehicle was never stolen but deliberately shipped to Nigeria, providing photographs to support his allegations. He described this as part of a pattern of deceptive behavior, accusing Chikere of manipulating situations to her advantage.
He also highlighted a separate incident involving Mr. Alfred Morris Oyawari, a longtime church caretaker in Lagos State. Alfred, who managed Chikere’s building projects for years on a minimal salary, was allegedly arrested in April 2025 over missing materials and remains incarcerated at Ikoyi Prison. Martin claimed Chikere influenced authorities, delaying court proceedings and allegedly pressuring Alfred’s family to waive legal claims against her.
Martin warned that Alfred’s case could reflect a broader pattern of abuse, with vulnerable Nigerians reportedly targeted by individuals wielding influence and power within the system.
