Harvesters International Christian Centre has unveiled a temporary financial support scheme for unemployed members, offering a monthly stipend of N50,000 for a period of three months.
The initiative was announced by the church’s Senior Pastor, Bolaji Idowu, during a worship service on Sunday, January 4, 2026. He explained that the programme is aimed at cushioning the effects of job loss on members who are actively serving in the church while they search for new employment opportunities.
According to Idowu, the support targets members who were previously employed but are currently out of work, particularly those holding leadership positions or serving in various capacities within the church community.
“For the next three months, the church will provide N50,000 monthly to those who are in between jobs, to help them remain stable until they secure new employment,” the pastor said.
He added that the initiative reflects the church’s responsibility to stand by its members during difficult times, noting that both leaders and workers involved in church service are eligible. Interested members are expected to notify the church administration to be included in the programme.
Idowu also assured the congregation that there would be no rigorous screening process, stressing that eligibility would be based on the trust established through members’ commitment and service to the church.
The announcement was greeted with loud applause from congregants, many of whom described the gesture as timely, compassionate and encouraging.
