Killaboi x Augusta Osedion

The trial of alleged murderer Benjamin Best Nnayereugo, popularly known as Killaboi, continued in court on Wednesday and Thursday with a chilling testimony from the uncle of the victim, Augusta Osedion.

During proceedings, the uncle narrated how the family discovered Augusta’s body at Killaboi’s residence in the Ajah area of Lagos after she had been unreachable for three days.

According to him, the family became worried after several attempts to contact Augusta failed. They later reached out to her friend, Oyin, who took them to Killaboi’s residence in Ajah.

He explained that they arrived at the estate with a soldier because the friend had earlier informed them that access into the estate was restricted without an invitation or security code.

“When we got to the estate, the soldier spoke with the security men and one of them accompanied us to the house,” he told the court.

On arrival at the residence, he said they noticed the gate was slightly open, suggesting that someone might have left the premises in a hurry. Augusta’s car was also parked in the compound, with the keys placed on the bonnet.

“We called her name several times but there was no response. When we tried to enter the apartment, the estate security personnel stopped us and insisted we could not go in without a search warrant,” he said.

The uncle said he then rushed to a nearby police station and returned with two police officers.

According to him, they eventually used a ladder to gain access to the apartment after being prevented from entering through the main door.

“They insisted I should go up first. When I got inside, I saw a pool of blood spread across the apartment. As I looked further, I saw a swollen body which I recognized as my niece,” he told the court.

He added that the body was later evacuated while the family and officers left the scene.

The witness also revealed that Augusta’s friend had been following Killaboi on social media and later discovered a post in which he allegedly confessed to killing Augusta after a quarrel.

He said the confession was shown to the police, who saved the evidence before it eventually circulated widely online.
Investigators later discovered that the suspect had fled the country shortly after the incident.

The court subsequently adjourned the case to April 22 and 23, 2026, for continuation of trial.
