Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has sparked outrage after insisting she will not apologise to Nigerians despite admitting her cancer claim was incorrect.
Speaking amid the controversy, she said she received about ₦13 million in donations and maintained that her actions were based on a misunderstanding of her medical condition. According to her, she relied on what a doctor told her about breast lumps being cancerous, only to later discover otherwise.
She declined to release her medical records while speaking to a blogger, Egungun, stating they are private, and dismissed criticism over the donations.
Reacting to allegations that the funds were meant to support her partner, Ikechukwu Ogbonna (IVD), she questioned how much Nigerians could realistically contribute.
The controversy escalated after claims surfaced that the medical report she shared belonged to another individual and was allegedly edited to include her name. The alleged original owner, a cancer survivor based in Asaba, has reportedly threatened legal action.
Additionally, a donor who claimed to have contributed ₦20 million has demanded a refund, further intensifying public backlash.
The incident has triggered widespread criticism, with many Nigerians accusing her of deception and calling for accountability over the handling of public donations.
