In case you missed it, Miss Onyinyechi Basil from Anambra State has emerged as the new Miss Universe Nigeria 2025, securing the crown at a glamorous finale in Lagos on Saturday night.
The event featured 22 contestants drawn from across the country, each vying for the highly coveted title. Basil captivated the judges with her elegance, eloquence, and vision, ultimately clinching the crown.
She succeeds Ugochi Michelle Ihezue, the 2024 titleholder, and will now undergo intensive preparations ahead of the Miss Universe international pageant later this year, where she will represent Nigeria among global delegates.
Her victory adds to Anambra State’s strong legacy in the pageant, having previously produced winners in 2002, 2016, and 2021.
