Kaduna consensus process must be democratic — says assembly aspirant

The All Progressive Congress [APC] assembly aspirant, Tom Garba, has called for a democratic consensus process in Kaduna to strengthen party unity ahead of the 2027 elections.

He spoke in Kaduna on Tuesday after submitting his nomination and interest forms at the party secretariat.

Garba said the party must adopt fairness, inclusion, and transparency to produce a credible flagbearer capable of winning the poll.

He declared readiness to face any challenger through direct primaries or align with a consensus outcome agreed by stakeholders, stating, “I have submitted my forms and am ready for the journey with no stress or doubts.”

Garba urged party leaders and aspirants in Lere West to make joint decisions, adding that “it should be a general decision taken by our stakeholders with all aspirants on a round table.”

He warned against associating Gov. Uba Sani with any candidate preference, stressing that the governor upholds justice and fairness.

Garba reaffirmed loyalty to the governor and party leadership while maintaining readiness for the May 20 primaries, saying, “For now, I am ready for direct primaries coming up May 20 unless otherwise stated by my stakeholders.”
