Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has announced that renowned businessman and philanthropist, Sir Kessington Adebutu, has committed to constructing a state-of-the-art headquarters for the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF).
The governor made the announcement on Thursday, December 11, 2025, during the 19th LSSTF Annual Town Hall Meeting on Security with the Governor, held in Lagos.
According to Sanwo-Olu, the new headquarters will be completed within 12 months and is expected to be ready for commissioning by the Fund’s 20th anniversary. The announcement was greeted with loud applause from stakeholders at the event.
“Our father, Sir Kessington Adebutu, who is represented here by his son, Ajibola Adebutu, has assured us that by the time we are celebrating the 20th anniversary, we will be commissioning a brand-new headquarters for the Lagos State Security Trust Fund,” the governor said. “It will be completed in 12 months. He deserves a big round of applause.”
The proposed building is expected to significantly improve the operational efficiency of the LSSTF by providing modern facilities for strategic planning, coordination and engagement with security agencies, thereby strengthening Lagos State’s security architecture.
Describing Sir Adebutu as one of the LSSTF’s biggest donors, the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Fund, Dr Ayo Ogunsan, expressed deep appreciation for his continued support and commitment to public safety. He noted that the project underscores the importance of private-sector partnership in sustaining security initiatives in the state.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including the Chairman of the LSSTF Board of Trustees, Mr Kehinde Durosinmi-Etti; President of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote; Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa; Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Olawale Edun; Chairman of Coronation Group, Mr Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede; and Managing Director of Access Bank Plc, Mr Roosevelt Ogbonna.
Others in attendance were senior security officials, members of the Lagos State Executive Council, traditional rulers, diplomats and captains of industry, all of whom reaffirmed their support for collaborative efforts to enhance security in Lagos State.
