The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the abduction and killing of a 17-year-old Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidate, Thompson Adams, in Ikorodu.

The Commissioner of Police, Fatai Tijani, identified the suspects as 23-year-old Elijah Emmanuel and 21-year-old Tony Ekwen Ogenata. He disclosed that they were apprehended around 8 p.m. on Monday at Lucky Fibre area of Ikorodu following credible intelligence.

According to Tijani, the victim had just finished writing the 2026 UTME on April 22 when the suspects—said to be his former secondary school classmates—lured him to their residence, where he was killed. His body was later concealed in a bag and abandoned within the community.

Further investigations revealed the suspects’ involvement in an earlier crime. Police linked them to the kidnapping and killing of a young woman in November 2025, believed to be the girlfriend of one of the suspects. The suspects reportedly demanded and received a ransom of N300,000 from her family before killing her.

The police commissioner stated that the suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
