The Lagos State Government has released the harmonised 2026/2027 academic calendar for all public and private primary and secondary schools across the state.
In a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mrs. Abisola Dokunmu-Adegbite, the government said the calendar was developed after extensive consultations with education stakeholders led by the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Jamiu Alli-Balogun, through the Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA).
According to the statement, the calendar outlines school resumption dates, mid-term breaks, examination periods and holidays, providing a uniform schedule to help schools, teachers, parents and students plan effectively throughout the academic session.
Dokunmu-Adegbite said the calendar was finalised after two stakeholders’ meetings where key dates for the new academic year were reviewed and agreed upon.
She quoted the commissioner as saying the harmonised calendar reflects the state’s commitment to improving the quality of education and ensuring a well-organised academic year, while urging all public and private schools to comply strictly with the approved schedule.
The government advised the public to access the full 2026/2027 Harmonised Academic Calendar on the official website of the Office of Education Quality Assurance and other official Lagos State Government digital platforms.
