The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) plans to install surveillance cameras at strategic locations across Lagos State to monitor and curb illegal waste dumping.

The initiative will help authorities identify offenders, enforce environmental regulations and discourage indiscriminate disposal of refuse on roadsides, road medians, drainage channels and other unauthorised locations.

The move is also aimed at reducing environmental pollution and preventing blocked drains that can contribute to flooding across the state.

LAWMA has urged residents and businesses to adopt responsible waste disposal practices by using approved waste collection services and designated disposal points to keep Lagos clean and healthy.
