The National President of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Hajiya Aisha Ibrahim-Bura, has installed a new set of executives to lead the Niger State chapter in Minna.

The association held the inauguration after members completed the election of new leaders to manage its affairs in the state.

The process aimed to improve coordination, strengthen administration, and reinforce accountability within the organisation.

Bola Jibogun, Chairperson of the International Federation of Female Lawyers, conducted the oath-taking for the newly installed officials during the ceremony.

Dr Asabe Sule Garba now serves as Chairperson of the chapter, while Ruth Gana assumes the role of Vice Chairperson.

Hauwa Inuwa takes office as Secretary, Aisha Baba-Doko becomes Assistant Secretary, and Fatima Kaka-Suleiman assumes the position of Treasurer.

Safiyan Muhammad Yaman will handle financial duties as Financial Secretary, while Hussaina Musa serves as Auditor.

Ibrahim-Bura urged the new leadership to focus on integrity and service, stating, “As you take on this responsibility, remember that leadership is a call to service. The expectations are high, but I am confident that you will meet up.”

She also encouraged unity and active participation among members to support the association’s goals.

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Niger State Council supported the exercise and ensured a smooth transition of leadership.

NUJ chairman Dr Abu Nmodu commended the peaceful conduct of the process and encouraged continued cooperation with the new executives.
