The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two suspected traffic robbers barely 24 hours after a motorist raised an alarm over repeated attacks along the Ojota–Ketu corridor.

The motorist had sent a direct message to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, via X, recounting how four men attempted to force their way into her vehicle in broad daylight while she was driving with her daughter. The suspects reportedly struck her windows with fists and stones at the Ojota bridge between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Thursday, leaving her shaken as one of them allegedly displayed a weapon.

She also noted that the same group reappeared at the spot days later but could not approach her vehicle due to the flow of traffic. She expressed concern over the absence of routine police patrols during both incidents.

Responding to her distress message, SP Adebisi said operatives of the Command Intelligence and Tactical Unit launched an immediate operation, leading to the arrest of two suspects on December 8.

“Based on the information received, our operatives swung into action, and within 24 hours, two suspects were arrested. They were caught in the act and have confessed to harassing motorists along the Ojota–Ketu corridor,” Adebisi said.

The suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue, with intensified police patrols now underway around identified black spots.

SP Adebisi urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities, saying, “When you see something, say something. Your cooperation is essential. Eko o ni baje!”
