Tension gripped parts of Lagos Island on Monday as family members and residents staged a protest at the Lion Building Police Station over the alleged killing of a young man at the Marina car park.
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday at the Marina car park area, where a man identified as Alhaji Oshodi allegedly beat a young man, Tope Lawal, to death during a violent confrontation.
Sources said the suspect was arrested shortly after the incident and is currently being detained at the Lion Building Police Station while investigations continue.
The development sparked outrage among the victim’s family members and residents, who gathered at the police station on Monday to demand justice for the late Lawal.
Eyewitnesses at the protest said the demonstrators called on law enforcement authorities to ensure a thorough investigation into the incident and to bring anyone found responsible to justice.
Police authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the matter as investigations continue.
