The Chief Executive Officer of the council, Dr. Ndaji Alhassan, has said, “The portal remains operational and accessible to applicants.”
He explained that the council recently partnered with two firms to manage licensing in pre-clinical and clinical stages.
Alhassan said, “Some nurses had already submitted their data to the previous firm before the contract was terminated, which created challenges in transferring the data to the new service provider.”
To resolve the issue, the council launched a new portal and directed nurses to update their professional information and biodata.
He added, “Once applicants complete the required updates on the portal, the licensing and renewal process will proceed smoothly.”
Applicants can choose to receive licences at home addresses, state nursing offices, teaching hospitals, or nearby offices.
Alhassan warned, “Users who attempt to proceed directly to the licence stage without first updating their professional information might be denied access by the system.”
