Support for President Bola Tinubu has gained momentum in Ondo State as the All Progressives Congress (APC) organised a large-scale solidarity walk to boost his 2027 re-election bid.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa led the procession in Akure, drawing participation from party members, government officials, and grassroots supporters.

The rally, branded “TinubuDatiwa Half a Million Walk 2027,” formed part of a broader mobilisation drive across the state’s local government areas.

Coordinator Kehinde Akinrotoye organised the initiative to strengthen political structures and expand outreach ahead of the general elections.

Aiyedatiwa described the turnout as a strong signal of support, stating, “This is a healthy initiative put together… in support of the re-election of President Bola Tinubu.”

He directed coordinators to deepen engagement at the grassroots, noting that the walk “is one of the several activities being organised to mobilise grassroots support ahead of 2027.”

Participants converged early and maintained a visible presence throughout the exercise, reinforcing the campaign’s momentum.

The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Henry Omoyofunmi, said the turnout reflects commitment to the ruling party’s agenda and its campaign efforts.

Akinrotoye said the programme aims to unify supporters across the state, adding, “The essence of this walk is to mobilise support for our President across the 18 local governments and the three senatorial districts of Ondo State.”
