President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday evening departed Lagos for Abuja following the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations and his recent state visit to the United Kingdom.

The President’s aircraft took off from the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport at about 6:44 p.m. He had earlier returned to Nigeria from the UK in the early hours of Friday and observed Eid prayers at Dodan Barracks in Lagos.

During his stay in Lagos, Tinubu held a series of high-level engagements, receiving 23 state governors, including Biodun Oyebanji. He also met with prominent business leader Aliko Dangote, an EU delegation, and members of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC).

Vice President Kashim Shettima also visited Lagos to brief the President on his recent trip to Borno State following a suicide bombing incident.

At the airport to see the President off were Dapo Abiodun, former Ogun State Governor Olusegun Osoba, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, as well as other senior government officials and party leaders.

The President has now resumed duties in Abuja.
