A former student of Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), Lagos, has raised an alarm after being repeatedly denied entry into the institution’s Epe campus due to his hairstyle.
In a video that went viral on Tuesday, the visibly frustrated young man displayed his Afro hairstyle, which, according to him, security personnel at the campus gate deemed “unacceptable.”
He claimed that despite returning several times over the past week, he was consistently turned away, preventing him from accessing the school premises to attend to a business reportedly worth over N2 million.
The incident has sparked online debates around personal freedom, appearance-based discrimination, and institutional gatekeeping.
