The Lagos State Police Command has arrested four suspects, including two bankers, for allegedly stealing £138,924 (N277,848,000) from the domiciliary accounts of international airlines operating in Nigeria.

The suspects, Austin Alfred, 38, and Jude Uzobuaku, 36, who are staff members of the affected bank, were arrested for their alleged roles in facilitating the transfer of the stolen funds.

Two other suspects, Shuaib Olaleye, 27, and Oladunjoye Adegoke, 33, were also arrested in connection with the crime.

The investigation began after a staff member of the bank petitioned the Lagos State Commissioner of Police about the stolen funds.

The police recovered a Toyota Camry from one of the suspects, which was allegedly purchased with the stolen funds. The suspects have made useful statements and are undergoing interrogation, according to the police.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Ben Hundeyin, confirmed the case, stating that the investigation is ongoing.
