Ikeja Electric says customers across its network are experiencing shorter electricity supply hours due to reduced power allocation from the national grid.
Ikeja Electric has attributed the reduced hours of electricity supply across its network to a shortfall in the power allocated to the distribution company from the national grid.
The company disclosed this in a public notice issued on Monday, October 19, 2026, acknowledging the inconvenience caused to customers by the reduced supply.
According to the electricity distribution company, the constraint stems from the amount of electricity currently allocated to its network, affecting the duration of power supply to customers in its coverage areas.
“We understand the inconvenience this may cause and sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding,” the company said.
Ikeja Electric assured customers that it was engaging relevant stakeholders to improve the available electricity supply.
The company also pledged to distribute the power received from the national grid as efficiently and equitably as possible while keeping customers informed of further developments.
The development comes amid concerns over electricity supply among consumers, who depend on the national grid for their daily household and business activities.
Ikeja Electric reiterated its commitment to addressing the situation and thanked customers for their patience and continued cooperation.
