The Lagos State Government has commenced exclusive regulated bus operations under the Lekki–Epe Bus Reform Initiative as part of efforts to improve public transportation and enhance commuter safety across the corridor.

The initiative, which officially began on December 8, 2025, marks the first phase of a broader transport reform programme that will eventually extend to Epe and other adjoining communities.

According to the government, the reform covers major routes including Ajah–CMS (Marina)/Obalende, Ajah–Oshodi, Ajah–Berger, and Ajah–Iyana Ipaja, with the aim of providing a more organised, secure, and efficient bus transit system for residents.

As part of the reforms, all buses operating under the scheme will carry the official Lagos State blue-and-white colour design and display QR-coded PTCS stickers for easy verification by commuters and enforcement officials. Each vehicle will also have unique identification codes to strengthen monitoring and accountability within the transport sector.

The government added that the buses will be equipped with TAP stickers to enable cashless payment through the Cowry Card system, in line with the state’s drive towards a technology-driven and seamless transportation network.

Drivers participating in the scheme are also expected to wear official Ministry of Transportation identification badges to ensure professionalism and boost public confidence in the system.

The Lekki–Epe Bus Reform Initiative is part of ongoing efforts by the Lagos State Government to modernise transportation infrastructure, regulate commercial bus operations, and improve the commuting experience for residents across the state.
