The Lagos State Government has announced that the Federal Ministry of Works will begin replacing the expansion joint on Kara Bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, with the project expected to last two weeks.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Monday by the Director of Public Affairs at the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, Bolanle Ogunlola.
According to Ogunlola, motorists should expect partial traffic disruptions around the Kara axis throughout the repair period.
She urged road users to remain patient, obey traffic regulations, and cooperate with traffic management officials who will be deployed along the corridor to ease vehicular movement.
Ogunlola, however, assured motorists travelling towards Ibadan beyond the Fatgbems Turn that traffic is expected to flow with minimal disruption.
She also advised commuters to plan their journeys ahead, explore alternative routes where possible, and adhere to all traffic advisories to minimise delays during the repair works.
