A Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) vehicle was seen engulfed in flames early Wednesday morning at Majidun, immediately after Ogolonto, inward Ikorodu in Lagos.
The incident, which occurred around 7:00 a.m., caused panic among motorists and commuters along the busy Ikorodu corridor as thick smoke billowed from the burning bus.
Eyewitnesses said the fire affected the blue BRT bus while it was positioned along the road, forcing vehicles approaching the area to slow down while others diverted to avoid the scene.
The cause of the fire could not be immediately confirmed as of the time of filing this report, and it was unclear whether there were any casualties.
Authorities and emergency responders were expected to move to the scene to manage the situation and restore normal traffic flow along the route.
