Specialist divers from the Nigerian Navy and the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) have recovered additional components from the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) ATR 42-500 aircraft involved in an accident in Igbokoda, Ondo State.
The NAF disclosed this on Wednesday, saying multi-agency teams were continuing underwater search and recovery operations at the accident site.
According to the Air Force, the operation is being supported by hydrographic surveys, satellite-based search-and-rescue imagery, mud excavation and the pumping out of excess water to improve access to affected areas.
It added that search teams were working round the clock to locate and retrieve relevant materials for documentation and preservation as part of the ongoing investigation into the accident.
